Housing
Good housing is fundamental to all of us as people. To an individual, a home means safety and security, a starting point from which to do everything else in life. And it is the foundation of any community. To a community, good housing means economic development and jobs. It means kids are safer, healthier and happier. For many families, finding housing is one of the first steps to self-sufficiency.
As the lead Republican on the Senate Committee that funds the Department of Housing and Urban Development, I am in a good position to advocate for the funds and programs needed to help Americans find safe and affordable housing.
