CIA Director Porter J. Goss Names New Deputy Director For Science and Technology

Today CIA Director Porter J. Goss announced the selection of Stephanie L. O'Sullivan as Deputy Director for Science and Technology. O'Sullivan had served as Associate Deputy Director for Science and Technology since June 2003.

In a statement to CIA's workforce, Director Goss said: "I know her to be an exceptionally capable leader. The DS&T embodies the creativity and innovation that always have been critical to CIA's mission success. Stephanie has the vision and technical expertise to lead the Directorate and to build on its record of legendary achievements."

O'Sullivan has held a number of senior posts in the DS&T over the past decade, doing much to enhance CIA's technical capabilities. Before joining the Agency in 1995, she led a variety of research and development programs for the Office of Naval Intelligence and oversaw a series of sensitive projects for TRW.
