Congressman Eliot Engel announced that the New York City Department of Transportation will install a traffic light at the intersection of East Gun Hill Road and Capuchin Way in the Olinville section.
Rep. Engel said, “A Department of Transportation study demonstrated the need for a traffic light at this site. This section of road is next to a triangular intersection where the traffic pattern is complex. A traffic light here will go a long way to making the area safe for drivers and pedestrians."
The DOT said the installation will be performed by contract and expects the traffic light to be installed by February 29, 2004.
