CLAREMONT, NH – United States Senator John Sununu (R-NH) today (8/28) toured Claremont’s Wainshal Building where he was thanked by local officials for helping to secure historic tax credit eligibility from the United States Park Service for the redevelopment project. At the request of the City of "It is a pleasure to see the renovation work that is currently underway at the former mill, especially since the City, the builders, and the architects have worked so diligently to redevelop and restore this historical site," said Sununu. "This economic development project will provide welcome room for the creation of new jobs as well as an opportunity for new industry to move into an economically challenged area of our state. By responding to my request to expedite its review process, the National Park Service has ensured that the building meets strict criteria for historic designation and that it qualified for federal historic tax credits. The Wainshal project will be a significant step forward in the City’s plan for downtown revitalization."
