Thompson, Langevin Demand Investigation into Department Cyber Attacks

September 24, 2007 – Committee on Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) and Subcommittee on Emerging Threats, Cybersecurity, and Science and Technology Chairman James R. Langevin (D-RI) sent a letter on Friday to Richard L. Skinner, Inspector General of the Department of Homeland Security to request an investigation into cyber attacks on the Department initiated by foreign entities and relating to incompetent and possibly illegal activity by the contractor charged with maintaining security on its networks.
