Eglin AFB (April 28, 2008) - Okaloosa County’s WAVE public transit system has started to offer service at the newly opened Eglin VA Community-based Outpatient Clinic.
The new stop will be an extension of the existing WAVE Express, which provides three round trips per day from Crestview to Fort Walton Beach. The WAVE Express has six stops located at Crestview City Hall, Okaloosa Walton College-Niceville Campus, Niceville Community Center, Shalimar Courthouse Annex, Uptown Station in Fort Walton Beach and now the VA Clinic.
Service hours are Monday through Friday with departures beginning at 6:30 a.m. from Crestview City Hall. WAVE Express fares are $1.50 per trip or 75 cents per trip for senior and disabled riders.
Monthly passes may be purchased for $40 or $20 per month for senior and disabled riders.
