On June 24, 2008, the Subcommittee on National Security and Foreign Affairs held an oversight hearing into U.S. Coalition Support Funds to Pakistan. The Coalition Support Funds program was created after 9/11 to reimburse other countries for their logistical and combat support of U.S. military operations. Pakistan has received $5.56 billion under this program, accounting for over 50 percent of all U.S. funds given to Pakistan since 9/11. This hearing featured the first public, independent and on-the-ground investigation into the program.
