Joint Hearing on Federal IT Security: The Future of FISMA

On Thursday, June 7, the Subcommittee on Government Management, Organization, and Procurement and the Subcommittee on Information Policy, Census, and National Archives hold a joint hearing on federal IT security and the future of FISMA.

The hearing will review the 2002 Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and federal agency efforts to improve security, integrity, and reliability of the federal government's information systems. In addition, the hearing will examine whether the information assurance activities of private sector entities, including their cyber security best practices, would be appropriate models for improving the information security of federal agencies.
