Legislative hearing on H.R. 4272

The Subcommittee on Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia will hold a legislative hearing on H.R. 4272, an Act “To amend chapter 15 of title 5, United States Code, to provide for an additional, limited exception to the provision prohibiting a State or local officer or employee from being a candidate for elective office.”

The hearing will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The Subcommittee will examine recent legislative efforts, as proposed by H.R. 4272, to amend provisions of the Hatch Act to provide an exemption to Section 1502 (a) (3) of Chapter 15 of title 5, United States Code for persons in areas with a population of less than 100,000.
