On Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building the Subcommittee on Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia will hold a hearing on H.R. 5600 and a business meeting to mark up:
H.R.6322, a bill introduced by Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton on June 19, 2008, “to amend the District of Columbia School Reform Act of 1995 to permit the District of Columbia government to exercise authority over the Public Charter School Board in the same manner as the District government may exercise authority over other entities of the District government.”
Immediately following the business meeting, the Subcommittee will hold a hearing to examine, “H.R. 5600: the District of Columbia Court, Offender Supervision, Parole, and Public Defender Employees Equity Act of 2008.”

The House Subcommittee on Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia will hold a hearing examining H.R. 1296, the “District of Columbia District Attorney Establishment Act.”
The hearing will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., in room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
On Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in Room 2154 of the Rayburn House Office Building, the Subcommittee will hold a hearing entitled, “Advancements and Continual Challenges in the Parole, Supervised Release and Revocation of DC Code Offenders.”
On Thursday, March 7, 2008, Chairman Danny K. Davis introduced H.R. 5551, a bill to amend title 11 of the District of Columbia Code, to increase the pay rate of attorneys who participate in the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) and Counsel for Child Abuse and Neglect (CCAN) programs.
On October 16 at 2:00 p.m. in 2154 Rayburn House Office Building, the subcommittee will hold a hearing examining the reentry preparations used for prisoners into society.
On Thursday, June 7, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., in 2247 Rayburn House Office Building, the Federal Workforce, Postal Service, and the District of Columbia Subcommittee held a hearing entitled, “DC Autonomy.” The hearing examined H.R. 733, the “District of Columbia Budget Autonomy Act of 2007” and H.R.1054, the “District of Columbia Legislative Autonomy Act of 2007.
On Thursday, March 22, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., in 2247 Rayburn, the Federal Workforce, Postal Service, and the District of Columbia Subcommittee held a hearing examining the impact the District of Columbia College Assistance Program (DC TAG) has on expanding the educational opportunities for District high school students.
