CLINTON, Miss. -- Employees of FEMA's Transitional Recovery Office (TRO) in Biloxi are returning to the Gulf Coast following the pass through by Hurricane Gustav. The TRO temporarily relocated essential services to Clinton as the storm approached. "We are in the process of reconstituting full operations at the Biloxi TRO within the next two days," said Benjamin Watson, Acting Director Mississippi TRO.

Officials also said efforts are currently under way to contact each staff member with instructions when they should report for duty. Emergency staff members who evacuated from Biloxi to Clinton have already started to return to the Gulf Coast.

FEMA has maintained primary Mississippi Hurricane Katrina recovery operation in Biloxi since January 2006. The temporary relocation to Clinton allowed recovery operations to continue despite the threat of Hurricane Gustav.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
