The meeting of the Ophthalmic Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee scheduled for April 24, 2008, is cancelled. This meeting was announced in the Federal Register of March 24, 2008 (73 FR, Page 15530).
The April 24, 2008, Ophthalmic Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee meeting to discuss VisionCare Technologies, Inc., for an implantable miniature telescope (IMT) has been cancelled to allow time for the FDA to review additional data. The agency intends to continue evaluating the IMT and will work with the sponsor to schedule an Advisory Panel meeting in the future, as needed.
The April 25, 2008 Ophthalmic Devices Panel Meeting to discuss general issues concerning the postmarket experience with phakic intraocular lenses and laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) will be held as previously announced.
