limitations of your body can help ensure a safe and memorable trip.

Campground Status

Camping can generally be enjoyed from June through September. For questions on a specific campground, please call our Local office.

Reservations may be made for certain sites in specific campgrounds by calling 1-877-444-6777 or at http://www.recreation.gov. Most campgrounds will have sites available on a first-come, first-served basis, as well.

Fires & Emergencies

There are no fire restrictions at this time.

When prescribed burns, wildland fires, and weather and road emergencies occur, this is where we will provide up-to-date information.

Restrictions & Closures

The Regional Forester and Forest Supervisors may issue orders that restrict or close the use of certain areas if needed. Check out our Special Orders page to see what activities and areas are prohibited or closed currently.

When partial fire restrictions are in effect, campfires and charcoal barbeques are allowed only in designated campgrounds. When full fire restrictions are in effect, campfires or charcoal barbecues are not allowed anywhere. Coleman stoves are allowed (unless specifically restricted) in both cases. Check this spot for a link to specifics when restrictions are in effect.

Roads

Access to Forest and Grassland roads and trails remains open. Don't be delayed on the road! Check road reports for the Rocky Mountain area.
