Cooperation Objectives
The OIP Cooperation Program has two principal objectives in executing and
fulfilling its mission.
Objectives:
- Advocate, counsel and support actions to establish and strengthen effective
export control systems in the principal
- Promote and support host-country enactment of legislatively-based controls
- Adoption of dedicated, active, export enforcement structure as an integral
part of their export control mechanisms
- Licensing procedures and practices that use a senior-level interagency
structure and broad-based technical support
- Interactive industry-government partnerships in all aspects of the national
export control system.
- Assist in the application of automation technologies
Desired Outcome:
The OIP Cooperation Program's vision has tailored goals for each country.
The goals have been established to meet the individual needs of each participating
country in reducing the transnational flow of weapons of mass destruction
and associated materials.
