Nesting Songbirds in North Dakota

Participation in North Dakota's Bluebird Recovery Project

Every year, hundreds of North Dakotans enjoy viewing bluebirds and monitoring nest boxes. Many of these individuals are networked into North Dakota's Bluebird Recovery Project through the Nongame and Watchable Wildlife Program of the North Dakota Game and Fish Department.

Participants of this project keep track of the nesting result of each box they monitor and provide this information to the Department at the end of the nesting season. Forms and postage free mailing are provided and participants receive a tally of the statewide results when completed. This information is used to track bluebird populations and share with other states around the country that have similar programs.

We are looking for more participants to become part of the Bluebird Recovery Project. If you wish to become part of this growing program, send your name and address to: Nongame and Watchable Wildlife Program, NDGFD, 100 North Bismarck Expressway, Bismarck, ND, 58501.
