IN THE SPOTLIGHT AT EHS
Applications
are being accepted for the fifth cohort of CDC’s
Environmental
Public Health Leadership Institute (EPHLI) until October
31, 2008. EPHLI is a 1-year program that identifies, trains,
and assists in the development of environmental public health
leaders. Fellows attend working sessions and a concluding graduation
program where systems thinking projects are presented.
Behavioral Science and Food Safety [PDF

September issue
of the Journal of Environmental Health, Laura Green discusses
the importance of behavioral science research and methods in
food-safety efforts. For example, behavioral science interviewing
techniques can be used to improve the quality of information
collected about food workers' behaviors.
