King County Juvenile Detention

  Visiting Juvenile Detention

Visiting Hours

  • 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - Monday through Friday

  • 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. - Weekends and Holidays

Visiting Guidlines

  • Visits may be up to 30 minutes long

  • Each youth may have visitors up to three times per week

  • Only parents and guardians and children under the age of eight may visit

  • No food, clothing, money, or personal items may be brought into the visiting area

Building Security

The King County Sheriff's Office provides security screening at the front door of the Youth Service Center. Do not bring weapons of any kind to the buidling. State laws with regard to smoking and the possession of tobacco are strictly enforced.


Childcare

Childcare is not available at the Youth Service Center. If possible, it is best not to bring other children when coming to the Youth Service Center. If you do bring children with you to detention, remember that only children under eight years of age are allowed into detention visiting.
