King County Census Records, 1857-present
Historically, censuses have been taken both by State/Territorial governments as well as the Federal government. Federal censuses have been taken every 10 years while State or Territorial censuses were generally taken between those year spans.
Note: Access to Federal census records is restricted for 72 years after the census is taken. For this reason, census population schedules from 1940 to present are inaccessible to public research at this time.
