International Government Officials Not On No-Fly List

Washington, DC – Richard Kopel, Acting Director for the Terrorist Screening Center, today made the following statement: ”The U.S. Government has not in the past disclosed names of individuals on the U.S. Government’s ”No-Fly” list. The list is comprised of people who are not allowed to fly on aircraft in the U.S. The U.S. Government has agreed to make an exception in this case given the erroneous information in the public domain and the fact that the following individuals are elected officials of a foreign government.

· Lebanese Speaker of the National Assembly Nabih Berri is not on the No-Fly list.

· Bolivian President Evo Morales is not on the No-Fly list.

“The No-Fly list is updated daily as information changes. The U.S. Government will not comment on individuals who may have been on the No-Fly list in the past.”

The Terrorist Screening Center is a multi-agency center administered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with support from the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State, the Department of Justice, the Department of Defense, the Department of the Treasury, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
