WOMEN'S CLOTHING STORES (SIC 562)

Establishments primarily engaged in selling women's and girls'
ready-to-wear apparel. Establishments are included in this category
if (1) sales of all types of apparel (except as noted in the
definition for general merchandise stores) account for 50 percent
or more of total sales, (2) sales of all women's and girls' apparel
are three or more times the sales of all men's and boys' apparel,
and (3) sales of dresses, skirts, slacks, coats, suits, and furs
are two or more times greater than the sales of millinery, hosiery,
underwear, blouses, handbags, and other apparel and accessories.
Custom tailors primarily engaged in making women's clothing to
individual order are classified in SIC 569.
