About Us

The Daisy Mountain Fire District was created in January of 1988.  It encompasses
roughly 100 square miles, covering approximately from Carefree Highway on the south,
north to the county line, and from about 24th Street, west to 43rd Avenue, and includes
the communities of New River, Desert Hills, and Anthem.

The Daisy Mountain Fire Department is a career department which operates four first-
line engine companies, one brush unit, three tanker units, one ladder company, two
rescue companies and one command vehicle out of four staffed stations that are
manned twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.  Shifts are twenty-four hours on
and forty-eight off.  The fire department is dispatched by the City of Phoenix as part of a
valley-wide consortium agreement.  The Daisy Mountain Fire Department actively
participates in aid agreements with other fire departments in the Valley.

The District’s administrative headquarters and Fire station 141 are located at 43814 N.
New River Road.  Fire Station 141 is staffed with an engine company and tanker unit.
Fire Station 145, on Desert Hills Drive, and Fire Station 146, located in New River on
west New River Road, are each staffed with one engine company and one paramedic
rescue company. Station 142 is located in the community of Anthem on Daisy Mountain
Drive; it is staffed with one engine company, one brush unit and one ladder company.
The Battalion Chief headquarters is located in New River.

Daisy Mountain Fire Department has a staff of just under 100 members including the
fire chief, administrative staff, mechanics, and line personnel (fire and EMS).  Of these
personnel, over thirty are certified Paramedics.  All line members are Arizona State
Certified Firefighter Level II or higher, have a First Responder-Operations Hazardous
Materials Certificate and must possess a current Arizona State Certified EMT license or
higher.  CPAT Certification is also required for full
time employment of line personnel.
