Software Resources

PASSCAL provides open-source software for downloading seismic data from REF TEK RT72A, RT130 and RT125, and Quanterra Q330 recorders, for quality assessment, and for conversion to other data formats for analysis and archiving at the IRIS Data Management Center.

IRIS maintains a license agreement with Boulder Real Time Technologies providing Antelope realtime software to IRIS member institutions and institutions conducting PASSCAL experiments or archiving data at the IRIS Data Management Center. Antelope can be requested from the DMC at http://www.iris.edu/manuals/antelope.htm

IRIS also maintains a license to fund support, maintenance, and a purchase discount for SPW through Parallel Geosciences. These services are available to IRIS member institutions. SPW seismic reflection processing system runs on Windows NT/2000 and handles SEGY, SEGD and SEG2 data formats.

PASSCAL Software

general software for downloading, quality checking and format conversion of data from REF TEK's RT72A, RT130 (DAS) and RT125 (Texan), and Quanterra Q330 recorders. The PASSCAL software suite, including PQLII, runs on Linux, MacOS X, and SUN Solaris.

We currently provide binaries for Fedora Core LINUX, MacOS X, and SUN Solaris. For other operating system versions, we recommend that you compile the source code.

Please send any bug reports to passcal@passcal.nmt.edu. Be sure to include the operating system type and version number, an example command line, sample data if possible, and the version number of the problem code. Version numbers of PASSCAL code are YY.JJJ where YY and JJJ are the year and julian day of the revision.
