Hello:

This is just a quick note to affirm the importance of accessible pedestrian signals in my life.
Most intersections have very varied traffic flow, and many don't line up to a cane-user trying to cross a street. These signals not only ensure that I'm walking when there's no oncoming traffic, but they provide a beacon to the other side of the street.

The need is especially clear at particularly wide or busy intersections. This is definitely one of those situations where the old adage about "better safe than sorry" should apply.

Thanks,
