Angeles National Forest Posey Canyon/Ridge Route Area Remains Closed

ARCADIA, CA — October 5, 2007

ARCADIA, Calif. - The Forest Service announced today that it will temporarily keep a closure in place for a portion of the Angeles National Forest in the area surrounding the Posey Canyon/Ridge Route Pipeline Rehabilitation Project. The closure will be effective from October 6, 2007 through October 5, 2008.

This area received substantial damage from a pipeline oil spill and is still undergoing repairs and therefore will remain closed for resource protection and public safety. The location of the closure is east of Interstate 5, between Castaic and Vista Del Lago. A map of the closed area, as well as the closure order and legal description, can be viewed on the internet at www.fs.fed.us/r5/angeles.
