Reclamation Completes Resource Management Plan for Navajo Reservoir Area
Reclamation's Western Colorado Area Office announced today that the Final Environmental Assessment (FEA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Resource Management Plan for Navajo Reservoir in New Mexico and Colorado have been completed and are available. Management alternatives were evaluated in cooperation with Colorado and New Mexico State Parks and other agencies. The Bureau of Reclamation selected an action alternative that protects Navajo Unit purposes, allows for other uses consistent with project purposes, provides for public recreation, and protects and enhances area resources. The plan will help direct resource related activities at Navajo in the future.

Reclamation has concluded there will be no significant impacts to the quality of the human environment as a result of implementing the proposed alternative.

If you have questions or would like a copy of the FEA and FONSI please contact Alan Schroeder at (970) 248-0692 or aschroeder@uc.usbr.gov. The documents are also available on-line.
