REASON FOR
ALERT        : This alert originally issued on August 8, 1993.
               Review of FY92 detention data indicates that filth
               in soup mixes from Hong Kong continues to be a
               problem.  Of 12 detentions in FY92, 8, or 66%, of
               the entries were refused due to filth.  These
               shipments represented 7 different
               manufacturers/shippers.

INSTRUCTIONS : Automatically detain all shipments of dried soup
               mixes from Hong Kong for insect filth.
