Passes and PermitsRecreation PassesA Recreation Pass is a pass for the use of many improved trailheads, picnic areas, boat launches and interpretive sites on National Forests throughout Oregon and Washington.Recreation Pass Required signs are posted at participating sites. These Forest Service sites in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area require a recreation pass: click here. Revenues from pass sales go directly to maintaining and improving the trails, land and facilities you own and enjoy. Special Use PermitsIf you are interested in holding a special event, you will need a Special Use Permit. Please email our Special Use Permit Coordinator for more information. Commercial Photography and Filming The Forest Service permits
commercial filming on public lands. Like other commercial uses of National
Forest lands and resources, commercial filming requires a Special Use
Permit issued by the Area Manager. Commercial still photography requires a Special Use Permit only for:
