    ARC logoAccessing Resources for Community and Faith-Based Organizations
    The ARC Initiative delivers training and technical assistance on the federal grants process to community-based, faith-based, and nonprofit organizations to enhance their capacity to compete for federal funding, form partnerships, and ultimately transform American communities. The program's goals include:

    ARC is funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice, and operated by the National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC).

    The Faith and Service Technical Education Network (FASTEN)
    FASTEN offers informational resources and networking opportunities to faith-based practitioners, private philanthropies, and public administrators who seek to collaborate effectively to renew urban communities. An initiative of Pew Charitable Trusts, FASTEN identifies best practices and gathers and disseminates information concerning faith-based services and multisector collaboration. Resource topics include:

    FaithTrust Institute
    The FaithTrust Institute (formerly the Center for the Prevention of Sexual and Domestic Violence) is an interreligious educational resource that addresses issues of child abuse and sexual and domestic violence, with a focus on women's issues. Its goal is to engage religious leaders in the task of ending abuse, and to serve as a bridge between religious and secular communities. The organization offers a wide variety of services and resources, including training, consultation, and educational materials (many resources are available in Chinese, Korean, Laotian, Spanish, and Vietnamese).

    TTAC LogoThe Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center
    The Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center (OVC TTAC) provides comprehensive, quality technical assistance and training resources to victim service providers and allied professionals. OVC TTAC can support faith-based organizations by providing conference and workshop speakers; staff and volunteer trainings; and expert, focused assistance in needs assessments, program development, and program evaluation. Faith-based organizations have requested OVC support in serving victims of crime on such issues as grief and loss, vicarious trauma, and ministering to victims of crime.

    Organizational Capacity Building Resources for Faith-Based Victim Service Programs (October 2005)
    This resource matrix identifies resources to strengthen faith- and community-based victim service programs. It includes links and contact information for resources to assist programs with strategic planning, program development, federal and foundation funding, and raising public awareness.


    This "Faith- and Community-Based Resources" page lists free or low-cost training materials and related links as a service to diverse professionals who work with victims of crime. It also is part of several Web pages designed to provide timely, useful resources and information tailored to the needs of faith-related victim assistance efforts.
