CERT members attend a combined 30 hour classroom/hands-on training course designed to give them the needed skills and knowledge to assist their communities in the event of a disaster. CERT teams meet quarterly and participate in local disaster exercises. Members are also encouraged to attend any of the basic training sessions as refresher. To keep members involved and motivated, we also look for ways to use CERT in community events. Enrollment is open to anyone 16 years of age and older who lives or works in the Newberg/Dundee area. The only requirements for participation are: commitment, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn as well as a small registration fee. To reserve a spot in an upcoming class, call 503-554-7706.
