Cert Description
The NET program includes an eight-week basic training course that follows FEMA's CERT curriculum and ends with a four-hour certification exercise. Graduates are encouraged to attend advanced training, refresher training or drills that are offered on a quarterly basis. In addition to the training, program participants also take responsibility for working with the Fire Bureau to organize their neighborhood teams and to market NET to their neighbors, friends and co-workers. They also participate in a range of community projects -- smoke detector installation campaigns, medical standby at community events, victims for drills and so on.
