| Cert Description |
| Polk CERT offers free training to Polk County Citizens on Emergency Preparedness, Fire Suppression, Disaster Medical Operations, Light Search & Rescue, Disaster Psychology, and Team Organization. Polk CERT supports and is supported by the Police and Fire Agencies in Polk County, including;
- Independence Police Department
- Monmouth Police Department
- Dallas Police Department
- Polk County Sheriff's Office
- Polk County Fire District #1
- Dallas Fire Department
- Polk County Emergency Management
The training is open to those age 16 and older. We currently have 9 teams throughout the county. We offer 1 or 2 new CERT classes each year.
After initial training there will be ongoing refresher and advanced training on a variety of topics. There are also several community activities and events that are optional during the year.
We provide all training materials plus basic safety gear (hard hat, vest, goggles, flashlight, work gloves, and back pack) to those that complete the 3 days of training. |
