Cert Description
Laramie County CERT was inaugurated March 1999. The program graduated its first 24 students in April 1999. The 7-week program is designed to teach residents how to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their homes, workplaces, and to prepare them to respond to disasters in the community. More training took place in the summer of 2003, graduating 51 volunteers. Volunteers are trained in risk analysis, fire suppression, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, and psychology. Teamwork is highly stressed.
