16-hour course designed to provide the citizens who complete the course with the basic skills needed to resond to their community's immediate need in the aftermath of a major disaster until the emergency services responders arrive, and then to assist the responders if needed. Course material includes Disaster Preparedness, Fire Suppression, Medical Operations, Light Search & Rescue, Disaster Psychology & Team Organization, Animals in Disaster, and Terrorism Awareness & Prevention.
