Andrew Pickens Ranger District
Do you want an exciting trip down one of the fastest flowing white-water rivers in the East? Do you want to hike or backpack? Then you've come to the right place. The Andrew Pickens District is home to the Wild and Scenic Chattooga River, 15 waterfalls, Ellicott Rock Wilderness, and 120 miles of trail.
The 84,000+ acre Andrew Pickens District, named for General Andrew Pickens, is located in the northwestern corner (Oconee County) of South Carolina known as the golden triangle. It serves as a gateway to the mountains of South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina.The Andrew Pickens District is part of the Sumter National Forest.
