NANCY J. GARGULA TO SERVE AS U.S. TRUSTEE

IN MISSOURI, NEBRASKA, AND ARKANSAS FOR INTERIM PERIOD


            WASHINGTON, D.C.–Nancy J. Gargula, United States Trustee for Indiana and Southern and Central Illinois (Region 10), is also serving as United States Trustee for Missouri, Nebraska, and Arkansas (Region 13) for an interim period, the United States Trustee Program announced today. She replaces United States Trustee Charles E. Rendlen III, who has been appointed to serve as a Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri.

            Since June 2002, Ms. Gargula has been the U.S. Trustee for Region 10, which is headquartered in Indianapolis with additional offices in South Bend, Indiana, and Peoria, Illinois. Immediately before her appointment as U.S. Trustee, Ms. Gargula was a partner in the Indianapolis office of Baker & Daniels and a member of the firm’s Commercial, Financial, and Bankruptcy Team. She joined the firm after serving for 12 years as in-house counsel for Bank One, Indiana, National Association. Ms. Gargula received her law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School in Notre Dame, Indiana, and her undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

            The U.S. Trustee Program is the component of the Justice Department that protects the integrity of the bankruptcy system by overseeing case administration and litigating to enforce the bankruptcy laws.

            The U.S. Trustee Program has 21 regions and 95 field offices. Region 13 is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, with additional offices in St. Louis, Missouri; Omaha, Nebraska; and Little Rock, Arkansas.
