Cert Description
The Kern River Valley is a sum of several communities (approx. 20,000 residents), 45 miles east of Bakersfield, in the mountains. KRV CERT started in May 2004. We have teams in almost each small community. As of Feb 2007, we have 70 members total. We present 3 cert classes a year for new people and train 9 months of the year. Our mission is to support the First Responders during major disasters. Also to educate the community on being disaster prepared.
