| The City of South San Francisco Fire Department offers a FEMA CERT program to its citizens, community groups, and businesses. The program follows the format designed by the LAFD and consists of training in the areas of disaster preparedness, disaster fire supression, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue operations, disaster psychology and team organization, a course review, and a final disaster simulation involving all that the participants have learned in the previous training. It is the goal of the South San Francisco Fire Department to prepare its citizens to render immediate life saving and life sustaining efforts in the event of a disaster. |
