Cert Description
Moreno Valley has trained over 400 individuals in our CERT program, which began in 1998. This exciting training includes disaster medical operations, triage, search and rescue, damage assessment, cribbing and leaveraging techniques, and disaster fire suppression. On the last day of training, students practice rescuing live victims during a disaster exercise. CERT graduates are offered additional classes free such as: CPR and First aid, Emergency Response to Terrorism, and SEMS. Graduates may participate in our city-wide disaster drills and safety fairs. CERT training is $15.00 and graduates receive a CERT backpack, helmet, vest, and certificate. Training sessions are held four times per year, typically Friday night through Sunday.
