| Joint county-wide emergency response training and education for civilians following the guidelines of FEMA as established by LAFD, providing search & rescue, evacuation, basic medical and fire suppression support until law enforcement and fire agencies are available to respond.
The Siskiyou Emergency Response Association (SERA) was formed under the Citizen Corps Council of Siskiyou County umbrella as the parent organization for the individual CERTs throughout Siskiyou County.
SERA provides the basic 20-hour CERT course, as well as courses on intermediate and advanced levels. SERA is currently working to have the basic course added to the College of the Siskiyous curriculum for both credit and non-credit.
