| Cert Description |
| The City of Rancho Cucamonga offers a FEMA-certified CERT course to local residents, businesses and schools at a cost of $100 per person. Firefighters, police personnel and emergency services personnel (graduates of EMI) provide instruction for the 24-hour CERT course. The full course, taught over a three-day period for eight hours each day, includes lessons on Earthquake Awareness/ Preparedness, Fire Suppression, Light Search & Rescue, Disaster Medical Operations, Team Organization & Management and a simulated drill. The City's CERT courses are coordinated through the Emergency Preparedness Office who also hosts an Annual Refresher Course. The Refresher Course, held each May, is offered to all CERT graduates at no cost for participants to enjoy a full day of guest speakers, a brief review of one or two CERT modules and a raffle drawing with lots of prizes. |
