The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has expanded its CERT training program to all areas of the County. Launched in 2000, this successful program has blossomed into a multi-agency partnership leading the way in service to the communities we serve. We recognize that emergency response agencies and critical utility companies will be deluged with calls for service in the hours immediately following a natural or man-made disaster, and may very well be unable to respond to every call for help. LASD CERT is designed to promote disaster preparedness at the neighborhood level through education and training. The LASD CERT program utilizes the FEMA CERT lesson plan, as well as, The American Red Cross Shelter Operations courses, CPR, First-aid and AHA AED training. |
