The Department of Health has been monitoring ambient air quality in
the State of Hawaii since 1957. The primary purpose of the statewide
monitoring network is to measure ambient air concentrations of six
criteria pollutants that the United States Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) has promulgated National Ambient Air Quality Standards
(NAAQS).
This report summarizes the air pollutant data collected at the monitoring stations during the calendar year. Tabular and graphic
summaries are provided which compare the measured concentrations with
State and Federal ambient air quality standards. In addition, air
pollutant concentration trend summaries are depicted in graphic form.
Various other data may be summarized as the need arises.
