| Program:Being part of a community is as basic a human need as food, shelter and clothing. Forming relationships, sharing experiences and being accepted for who we are, are the essentials of a rich fully realized life. GHF, Inc. provides quality residential cand training for adult persons with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities, and shall consistently look for innovative resources and means for the expansion of servics for these individuals. We shall also identify those persons who have the potential to move on to a less restrictive environment and provide them with the necessay programming to mainstream into the community if, and when appropriate. All of our residents experience the challenges and joys that come from living together as a family or roommate. Each resident is responsible for maintaining hif household as well as attending to various chores.Residents are urged to to go out into their communities by attending church services, pursuing hobbies, attending clsses, playing sports, and learning skills. Many of our residents are trained for the Special Olmpics. With this high level of functioning, it is notable that each staff person, first responders staff on duty, volunteers, as well as the residents be trained in the CERT Citizen Corps as a part of having every in American prepared, trained, and qualified. |
