| Cert Description |
| The Claiborne County Department of Administration and Planning has established its second CERT volunteer group consisting of 19 city employees and residents and two university students. Thus, twenty-one participants completed CERT Training on May 26-27, 2005. This effort promotes a unified Claiborne County/City of Port Gibson/Alcorn State University CERT. These individuals will be designated (on call) for assistance with the local Red Cross disaster relief shelters (particularly during hurricane season, provide needed volunteer assistance at the 2nd Annual Blues and Cruise Through History Motorcycle Rally and Show, and serve as camp leaders and adult chaperons during educational enrichment programs throughout the county and university. |
