Structure and Mission on the Outer Continental Shelf

The MMS has released an OCS Report entitled "The Resource Evaluation Program: Structure and Mission on the Outer Continental Shelf," a Resource Evaluation Report by George Dellagiarino and Keith Meekins. The 43 page report describes the procedures followed in evaluating offshore resources, beginning with permitting and collecting of   geological and geophysical data  and ending with resource economic and engineering evaluations and analyses for a lease sale. It is a summary of the Minerals Management Service oil and gas Resource Evaluation Program on the Outer Continental Shelf, the results of which are intended to assure the Government receipt of fair market value for these lands.

The OCS Report, designated MMS 98-0028 is available for inspection at the following MMS regional offices:
