                         BROWN AND LEHMAN TO RELEASE REPORT
                         ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND
                         THE NATIONAL INFORMATION INFRASTRUCTURE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Event: Secretary of Commerce Ronald H. Brown, Chair of the White
House Information Infrastructure Task Force, and Bruce A.
Lehman, Assistant Secretary of Commerce and Commissioner
of Patents and Trademarks and Chairman of the Working
Group on Intellectual Property and the National
Information Infrastructure, will release the final Report
on Intellectual Property and the National Information
Infrastructure.

When: Sept. 5, at 10:30 a.m.

Where: National Press Club Main Lounge

The report, the result of over two years work by the Intellectual
Property Rights Working Group, assesses how existing IP laws
apply to the content that flows on the information superhighway
and makes limited legislative recommendations.

Editor's Note: The event will be broadcast via satellite from
10:30-11:30 a.m.. Commissioner Lehman will be available for
