On October 3, 2008, the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and the Texas Governor’s Faith-Based and Community Initiative, led by OneStar Foundation, will host “A Partnership Summit to Advance Innovation and Community Impact” in Dallas, Texas, to highlight and strengthen the role of faith-based and community organizations in meeting the needs of their communities. Providing new resources and partnership opportunities for participants, this event will offer tools and training on a variety of topics including capacity building, resource development and management, and accessing State and Federal resources to address human need.

This will be the 40th and final conference hosted by President Bush’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. Each event, held across the country and around the world, has been designed to strengthen the services offered by frontline service organizations and expand government partnerships with them to serve the needy. This Summit will celebrate the success of these partnerships–and highlight ways they will continue to grow and impact in the years ahead. Breakout sessions will feature information on State and Federal grants and practical guidance on the grant-writing process; opportunities for non-financial collaboration between government and nonprofit programs; and successful practices of effective human service organizations.

The conference is free, but pre-registration is required. Registration is granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register online at www.fbci.gov by Tuesday, September 23rd. While online registration is strongly encouraged, those who are unable to register online may print and complete the attached form and fax it to 703-299-4589. If you are not able to view this file, please call 202-456-6708 to have a form faxed to you.
