NATIONAL STD PREVENTION CONFERENCE TO FEATURE LATEST STD RESEARCH AND SURVEILLANCE DATA

More than 1,000 scientists, researchers, and program and policy analysts will gather in San Diego from March 4 to 7 for the National STD Prevention Conference, the leading U.S. conference focusing on sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The conference will feature the latest data on national STD trends - including data analyses for cities and states most affected by STDs - and presentations and posters on efforts to control and prevent STDs through behavioral and biomedical interventions.

The National STD Prevention Conference is co-sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Social Health Association (ASHA).

At the conference, CDC will release updated surveillance data on the magnitude of STD epidemics in the United States, including data on infections by city and state. In addition, CDC will highlight important challenges that require urgent attention in order to make further progress against STDs.
