Interested in recycling and solid waste issues? King County seeks new members for Solid Waste Advisory Committee

2005 Archived News

King County Solid Waste Division is currently seeking citizen representatives to serve on the King County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC). SWAC is a volunteer advisory committee that provides input on solid waste management issues affecting King County residents and the solid waste and recycling services they receive.

SWAC reviews and advises the county on solid waste policy and operational issues, including the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan and the annual budget. SWAC selects its own chair, adopts rules of order, and conducts its own meetings. Information and staff support are provided by the Solid Waste Division. SWAC meetings are held on the morning of the third Friday of each month at the Solid Waste Division's offices in Pioneer Square, downtown Seattle.

Applicants must be King County residents living outside the cities of Seattle and Milton, and should have an interest in recycling and solid waste issues. To apply, submit a completed application by July 31, 2005. An application (PDF, 21 K) is available for downloading. If you are interested in a position on SWAC or have any questions, please contact Diane Yates at diane.yates@kingcounty.gov, or call her at 206-296-4406.
