Super Nuria 2m:15s (May 2003)
- Nuria Ruiz was a PMEL buoy technician aboard the Ka'imimoana
at the same time that Dana Tomlinson was aboard as a sponsored
Teacher at Sea. Nuria amazed everyone with her multiple skills.
Our camera was able to capture some of the many tasks that she
performed on the vessel -- hence the title of this video Super
Nuria!
Dana in Clem's Kitchen 2m:37s (May
2003) - If an army marches on its stomach, then ship personnel
wellbeing is directly correlated to the kitchen. On board the
Ka'imimoana is a wonderful chief steward Clementine. Join Dana
in learning more about how Clem keeps everyone "fat and
happy".
Teacher at Sea -South Bay Union
School District 21m.35s (May 2003) - Dana Tomlinson, from
Emory Elementary School in the South Bay Union School District
(SBUSD) in San Diego, was our sponsored Teacher at Sea aboard
the Ka'imimoana in March of 2002. The school district was justifiably
proud of Dana's achievements and wanted to bring her adventure
to a wider audience. With the help of the San Diego County
Office of Education, and ITV, a "commercial" half-hour
video was produced. Jorge Mora from SBUSD was instrumental
in bringing this about. This video will be played repeatedly
from the County's Cable Education Channel.
Song of the KA 2m:40s (May
2003) - A hurricane perturbed schedule, a meeting of some musical
minds, some international talent, and an insistent producer --
are all the ingredients that went into this original composition.
Enjoy the KA song with words and music by John Bumgardner, Takeshi
Izumo, Michelle Pelkey, and Larry Wooten.

Note for educators: The TAO/TRITON array continues to collect data and the Ka'imimoana continues to maintain the array. Please use the TAO web site, in conjunction with this web site, the lesson plans, daily logs, the videos, and the photos to educate your students about climate, El Niño, and scientific research in general.
Consider this web site, as well as the EPIC web site, a resource for teaching your students.
Many organizations and countries are involved in supporting the TAO/TRITON Array in the Equatorial Pacific. Primary U. S. funding is provided by The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
